I hold a BA in Sociology from the Catholic University of Chile and an MPA (Social Policy) from Cornell University. I have focused my academic and professional career on public health issues, particularly the study of the social determinants of health and policy interventions aiming to alleviate these social disparities. I have devoted a substantive part of my training to the study of the quantitative methods for the study of these topics. Before joining CalvoLab I worked at the Department of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University as a Research Assistant for the Strong Hearts Study, a community-based intervention trial aimed at cardiovascular disease risk reduction among overweight and obese sedentary women living in medically underserved rural areas.
